our process

Whatever your starting point — a simple recipe, a complex fortified functional beverage, or a process you need to validate — our facility takes you from ingredients to finished, professional-quality cans under one roof.

Every step of our process mirrors what you'd find in a full-scale factory, just without the minimum runs, the downtime, or the commitment. Whether you're here for the first time or you know exactly what you need, the following sections explain what we do and how we do it.

Blending

Getting the blend right is the foundation of everything that follows. Depending on your product, we'll select the most appropriate mixing method — high-shear, agitation, or recirculation — to ensure your ingredients combine correctly and consistently, every time.

Once blended, samples go straight to our on-site lab where we check the key quality measures — sugar levels, acidity, dissolved oxygen, alcohol content and more. Only when everything is confirmed in-spec do we move on to chilling and carbonation.

Carbonation

Getting carbonation right is one of the most technically challenging parts of beverage development — and one of the most commonly got wrong by sample producers.

Our computer-controlled carbonation system uses in-tank carbonation stones — the same method used in full-scale production — continuously monitoring pressure, flow rate and temperature to hit your target carbonation level with precision and repeatability. Carbonation levels are maintained automatically until your product is ready to fill, with real-time data available throughout the process for quality control purposes.

The result is a sample that doesn't just taste right today. It behaves exactly as it will when your recipe moves to full-scale production.

For those who need it, we can also provide analytical verification of dissolved CO₂ levels in the finished can, giving you the data to validate your process before committing to a production run.

Canning

Once your product is blended and carbonated, our automated filling and seaming equipment produces finished cans to exacting industry standards — the same level of consistency and precision you'd expect from a full production line, at a fraction of the volume.

Our filler uses controlled flow methods to deliver accurate, repeatable fill volumes with minimal waste, and automated CO₂ purging to protect dissolved oxygen levels throughout the fill. Every seam is consistently formed using patented seaming technology engineered to prevent flavour loss, spoilage and leaks — the same standard your co-manufacturer will expect when your recipe arrives at their factory.

For still products that don't require carbonation, we are also working towards offering liquid nitrogen dosing — the same method used in full-scale factories to ensure cans are properly pressurised and shelf stable. Get in touch to discuss your requirements and we'll let you know what's available at the time of your booking.

We can fill the following EU and USA can sizes with 200 or 202 CDL ends:

  • 150ml Slim (airline cocktail)
  • 330ml Standard
  • 250ml Sleek
  • 330ml Sleek
  • 250ml Slim
  • 355ml USA
  • 500ml Standard

Thermal Processing

Not every drink needs heat treatment, but for many recipes pasteurisation or sterilisation is an essential step — one that can significantly affect flavour, nutritional content and the integrity of any health claims your product makes.

We can match the thermal process used by your chosen co-manufacturer, or help you identify the right approach if you haven't got that far yet — giving you the confidence that what you produce here will perform exactly the same way in the factory.

For functional beverages and products making nutritional or health claims, thermal process validation is an important part of getting your product right before it reaches the market. We build it into the process as standard and are happy to talk you through what that means for your specific recipe.

Sleeving

Once your samples are filled, we can apply high quality digitally printed sleeves on-site, giving your product the shelf-ready appearance it needs to make the right impression — whether that's in front of a supermarket buyer, at a trade show, or in a consumer taste test.

Sleeves are produced digitally, so there are no minimum print runs and no need to commit to packaging before you're ready. Sleeving is an additional service, so get in touch and we'll talk you through your artwork requirements, lead times and costs to make sure everything is planned in from day one.

Shelf Life Testing

Creating a great tasting product is only half the challenge. Maintaining that quality, stability and efficacy throughout its shelf life is just as important — and required by law. This is especially relevant for products making nutritional or health claims, such as functional beverages, where what's on the label needs to be provable throughout the product's entire life.

We conduct accelerated shelf life studies, storing products under elevated temperatures to simulate long-term shelf life in a matter of weeks or months rather than years. We combine sensory, nutritional and microbiological testing to validate product stability, verify claims and ensure your product performs exactly as intended right up to its best before date.
